Built around your work

Make the next move easier to see.

An estimate went out last week. A prospect asked for a proposal. Another is ready to move forward, but nobody has picked up the next step. A pipeline puts those opportunities in view so your team can decide what needs attention.

Sales Pipelines

Give every active deal a place and a next step.

  1. 01

    Define meaningful stages

Choose steps such as New inquiry, Consultation booked and Proposal sent. Agree on what must happen before a deal moves forward.

  2. 02

    Add the opportunity

Link the contact, choose a stage and assign an owner. Record an estimated value and a follow-up task when there is a clear next action.

  3. 03

    Review and act

Filter the opportunities that need attention. Update the stage or outcome after checking what happened, and give the next action an owner.

Turn the sales meeting into a working conversation.

Prioritize the next follow-up

Review open opportunities by owner, stage or time since a stage change. Ask what is holding each deal back before deciding how to follow up.

Make a handoff easier to understand

Give the next teammate the deal context, responsible owner and related tasks. The board provides a starting point for a useful conversation.

Keep sales reviews grounded

Discuss recorded opportunities and estimated values instead of relying on memory. Review outcomes separately from payments collected.

Sales Pipelines

A clear sales process your team can keep current.

Use the available pipeline tools to organize the process. Plan access, user permissions and setup determine what your team can use.

Stages that match your processSee progress in terms your team understands.

Create stages around real steps in the sale and view opportunities on a board. Separate pipelines can represent different sales processes. Keep entry and exit criteria clear so moving a card means something.

Opportunity details and ownershipKeep the deal connected to the person behind it.

An opportunity records its contact, stage, owner and estimated value. Use relevant fields and tasks to explain the next action. Contact ownership and opportunity ownership should be deliberately configured rather than assumed to be identical.

Filters for focused reviewsLook at the deals that need a decision today.

Narrow the view by available fields such as owner, status, value or last stage-change date. A long time in a stage is a reason to investigate, not proof that the customer has lost interest.

Stages and outcomesSeparate sales progress from the final result.

A stage is a step such as Proposal sent. Status records whether the opportunity is open, won, lost or abandoned. Marking a deal won does not itself collect a payment or verify revenue received.

Repeat and parallel opportunitiesTrack a new project without overwriting an earlier deal.

Where multiple opportunities per contact are enabled, the same customer can have separate deals in one pipeline. Name them clearly and review automation rules so updates and messages target the intended opportunity.

Configured follow-up workflowsConnect a sales event to a planned next action.

Workflows can create or update opportunities and support follow-up when their triggers and actions are configured. Moving a card may trigger an active workflow, so review messaging, re-entry and duplicate rules before putting the process into use.

Following up on an estimate

A home-service team reviews open opportunities in Estimate sent. The owner checks the last conversation and creates a task to answer the customer’s remaining question. The stage changes only when the agreed next step actually happens.

Questions before you start

What is the difference between a contact and an opportunity?

A contact is the person your business works with. An opportunity is a potential deal associated with that person. Keep customer details on the contact and use the opportunity to track the particular sales process.

Can different services use different pipelines?

Yes. Separate pipelines can represent sales processes with different stages. Use them when the process genuinely differs, and keep definitions consistent enough for the team to understand its reports.

Does moving a card send a message automatically?

Only if a configured, active workflow responds to that event and includes a messaging action. Review those workflows before using the board so stage updates do not create unexpected outreach.

What is the difference between a stage and a status?

A stage describes progress within your pipeline, such as Proposal sent. Status describes the recorded outcome or current state: open, won, lost or abandoned. Use both consistently.

Can one customer have more than one deal?

Yes, when the relevant multiple-opportunity settings are enabled. This helps with separate projects or repeat sales. Workflows and reports need to account for multiple deals without updating the wrong one or counting duplicates.

Does the pipeline value show collected revenue?

No. Opportunity values are recorded deal amounts. Even a won status is a sales record, not proof of payment. Reconcile actual collections through your payment and finance process.

Can existing opportunities be imported?

Supported opportunity data can be imported through a mapped CSV process. Review contacts, stages, values and matching rules before importing. A full migration of documents or history may require a separate scope.

What does CreateMomento help set up?
